It is now known to all that it is almost forbidden to leave Naples without first having tasted a delicious Pizza! We find it practically everywhere, we would eat it every day and seasoned with ingredients among the most varied, but do we know how this ancient delicacy was born and how it arrived on our tables? The history of pizza has ancient origins; think that already in Egyptian and Roman times, focaccia enriched with basil and tomato were the basis of the Mediterranean diet. Instead, Pizza as we know it today, certainly originates in 1889 when, Raffaele Esposito, a well-known Neapolitan chef of the time, created a tricolor pizza in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy. This avant-garde focaccia, enriched with mozzarella, tomato and basil leaves, was a real success, so much so that it immediately began to be sold in the city stalls. In a very short time pizza became a key element in the tables of Italians but, in a short time, it also began to be exported worldwide, so much so as to acquire the importance of which it still boasts today. It is thought that the first real 'pizzeria' in the world was the "Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba", located right in the heart of Naples!

Pulcinella is the symbolic character of the folklore of Naples. Many times, looking for information online or simply walking through the alleys of Naples, we come across the images or drawings of this particular mask representing a man dressed in white with a strange headdress and a black mask with a hooked beak on his head . This particular disguise would symbolize a certain Puccio d'Aniello, a farmer who, during the 1500s, tired of working the land, joined a company of wanderers passing through his village. Pulcinella represents today Naples and the Neapolitans, their cunning, the art of getting by, their liveliness and the ability not to give up in front of anything, to roll up their sleeves and never give up a beautiful smile. Over the years this mask has given life to a real fashion: if you visit Naples during the days of Carnival, in February, we will note with pleasure the large number of children who decide to play the role of this iconic Neapolitan character at least for a day!
